Enjoy the storm

” Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add colour to my sunset sky.”  – Rabindranath Tagore

I’m coming to the end of my stay on Little Corn island, Nicaragua, which is such a beautiful place. For most of my time here the weather has been balmy and the ocean like a mirror – until the last two days when the tail end of a tropical storm hit. I do so love a good storm. The contrast with the tranquillity earlier in the week is a reminder of the power of nature and the wilds of the ocean. Much like in life in general, when a storm hits, all you can do is sit it out and enjoy the moment. I wandered up to the north of the island yesterday to feel the full force of the wind and swim in the wild sea. This morning when I woke up, I found a baby peilcan that had been blown off course. It looked exhausted, dazed and confused but here is a good place for it to regain its strength before it heads onwards. Here’s a few photos to show the variation before and after the storm.
