Sussex photography workshops

” We contacted Ian before heading on a trip to Norway as we wanted to improve our landscape shots. His advice on filters and post processing has revolutionised the way we take photos.” Tim and Cathy Brooks

One-one-one photography days offer the perfect way to cover a lot of ground and can be tailored to your exact needs. I usually run these in various parts of Sussex according to what your particular interests and needs are. My main areas of specialty are wildlife, travel, macro and landscape photography. Over the last 20 years my work has been widely published in books, magazines and newspapers around the world and I’m happy to advise on this aspect too. There’s a few samples of published work on here under my books and articles section.

I charge £245 for these daysContact me here for further information.

“I wanted to know how to use a new macro lens and booked a one-to-one day with Ian who suggested an insect and plant day on the South Downs. What an amazing day; we took some great photos and I just love the possibilities of macro photography. ” Jackie Dunn

I also run a few small group photography days which cost £110 per person and there’s more info here.

“Thanks so much for yesterday; I thoroughly enjoyed our day and learned a heck of a lot. Really appreciate you making it a great combination of instruction and hands on activity as well.” Matt Sage

Some feedback from a few people who I’ve done one-on-one Sussex photography workshops with:

“You’ve a way of explaining things so well and my camera now holds no fear. The slow panning technique and using slow shutter speeds for creative blur is so wonderful.” Miranda

“I Just wanted to say what a fabulous day it was on Friday. I’ve had my camera for a few months but and have only been taking pictures in auto-mode. You gave me confidence and explained the relationship between aperture, shutter speeds and ISO numbers in such a simple way. I finally understand them and how to use them. Thank you for such a inspirational day. ” Hayat Karboub ”

“I feel like I’ve been on a plateau with my photography for a while so huge thanks for our day together. I really loved the different techniques and filters we tried which has taken me on to a new level.” Mark Greys
