📸 Learn, Explore, and Create in the Heart of Sussex

My Sussex photography courses are for those who want more than just a quick snapshot. Whether you’re drawn to the drama of coastal cliffs or the quiet magic of wetland wildlife, Sussex offers endless opportunities to refine your skills and capture memorable moments.

We’ll work in some of the most beautiful locations in southern England, from the enchanting Seven Sisters coastline to the wildlife-rich wetlands around Arundel. Each day is a chance to immerse yourself in nature, hone your technique, and see familiar places in a new light. We take a break during the day to have lunch and a drink together and to look at some photos. How to keep organised with your photography and post processing techniques are also covered.

🌊 Coastal Landscapes — The Seven Sisters

The Seven Sisters are a dream location for photographers. Their sweeping white cliffs, rolling chalk hills, and dynamic skies make for incredible compositions. On our coastal days, you’ll learn to use different techniques and changing weather to your advantage. We’ll time our visits for the best conditions — early morning glow, sunset warmth, or the moody pastels of a cloudy day. You’ll discover how to work with tides, include wildlife in your coastal shots, and convey the sense of scale that makes this location so special.

🦆 Sussex Wildlife Photography

Sussex is wonderful place for wildlife photography. You might capture the flash of a kingfisher, the patient stance of a heron, or the intricate patterns of dragonfly wings in summer. We’ll cover tracking moving subjects, working with natural light, and composing wildlife images that tell a story. On my one-on-one Sussex photography courses we also often photography foxes and possibly even badgers.

New - Dorset wildlife photography retreat

Dorset wildlife photography fox hide

I’m pleased to announce that I’m also now running one-on-one wildlife photography training at a new wildlife retreat in Dorset. We have a fox and badger hide open which allows you to sit in comfort at ground level and photography nocturnal wildlife emerging from an area of woodland. There’s also lots of birds and great macro possibilities near our pond and wildflower area. As the sessions here are one-on-one we can tailor them to your exact needs and include camera trapping techniques if that’s something you’d like to explore.
