Baby orangutan photo

This image entitled ‘The Kiss’ has been chosen as a finalist in LCE photographer of the year 2026. The image will be on display at the photography & video show at the NEC, Birmingham from 14th to 17th March 2026 in the LCE gallery near the main entrance. The winners will be announced live on the creators stage on Sunday 15th March at 2pm. I took this image on one of my Borneo orangutan wildlife photography trips and love the tender affection the baby orangutan is giving its mum. The relationship between a mum and baby orangutan is one of the most special in the natural world with their offspring being dependant on their mothers for about eight years.
