It’s been a whirlwind of media over last week or so since winning wildlife photographer of the year people’s choice. Thanks so much to BBC1 news, BBC News 24, Sky News, Channel 5 news, The World Today, ITV news, LBC, BBC radio Sussex, BBC radio Solent & BBC radio Somerset for all covering it. There were also more than 85 regional BBC broadcasts, 20 additional ITV broadcasts and 42 regional and commercial outputs. The Sky News interview below has more info about the badger cull along with how I took this photo.
I’m proud to now be an ambassador for Badger Trust who are doing so much to fight the corner for our black and white friends. There’s been over 320 newspaper and magazine articles about this image in both UK and all over the world.
Yet as things currently stand the badger cull will resume again on 1st June 2025 with another 40,000 plus badgers to be killed on top of the nearly 250,000 who have already been shot.
