Mammal photographer of the year award

Delighted to hear that this image has just received a highly commended award in mammal photographer of the year 2025. It’s taken on my Nikon Z9 with a fish eye lens and a movement sensor to try and get some unusual close up shots of wildlife coming to drink at my watering hole. It meant building a platform in my pond on which the camera, lens and sensor could sit and then lighting the flowers with a very low powered off camera flash to not disturb the wildlife. The beauty of the Nikon Z9 is that I can use a high ISO and still get great image quality so need much less light than on older bodies.
